Yesterday I was on Me first and the Gimme Gimmes concert in Ljubljana. I came in with great expectations and got what was looking for, a great show. The concert was great and the only thing that could ruin it was the crowd, a bunch of drunk, impudent adolescents that just wanted to do some damage. The band was nice enough to pass some free water so the “people” won’t dehydrate but they just sprayed the water all over the stage and then hurled empty bottles at the band. They managed to knock down 2 microphones and broke bass amplifier. Those ungrateful punks!!
Other than that the show was great and I hope they will come to Slovenia again. I’m just stocked I could see punkrock legends live. I wish I could see Fat Mike (Nofx - bass guitar/lead singer) too, but he was replaced by Eric Melvin (Nofx - guitar). Nevertheless there was Joey Cape (Lagwagon lead singer) who made funny comments during the show. In one word…excellent!
I wanted to take some photos but as it seems, I bought empty batteries, so I made only 3 photos before they expired. I will post some pictures soon.
