Novak's blog is about web design, making money, blogging tips, interesting pictures

September 13th is the day Novak’s Blog got redesigned. This was not done by any design company, I did it by myself. I really struggled through the designing process on account of having almost no free time. I’ve even delayed publishing the design for a day.

But it all doesn’t matter now. The new design is here. How about we start with design review. Basically the only thing that stayed the same is logo because Novak’s Blog is recognized by it. I choose red color because the logo is shaped like heart, if you noticed. On account of growing popularity of blog, I had to make some space for direct advertising. All available ad’s spots are documented on advertise page.

What’s new?

• main menu is now expaded containing all important content
• search box has no submit button. All you have to do is to just type and press enter
• RSS buttons are more exposed. I added What is RSS? page which will explain what is RSS to everyone who doesn’t know that.
• what next area below every post. Here you can take different actions like submit current post to different communities. You can also see recent posts here.
• top commentators list is displayed in the footer. I want to stimulate you to comment more so I decided I would write blog review from this list every now and then .
• font enlarged because the old design had small font which was difficult to read

What is going to be different from now on?

At first I started this blog just to show my ideas on the web but soon realize I could do much better. There will be more tutorials, more blog tips, how to make money online, interesting pictures,… You can see how the category list changed to be more centered about relevant topics.

The old design didn’t stimulate users to participate in discussions. Now this is changed. Novak’s Blog will from now on encourage your feedback by rewarding top commentators by reviewing their blogs which will help them get some nice links from this blog. I’m trying to build a community here which will grow and expand into great blog with a lot of resources.

Although new design is online the process is still not over. I’d like to encourage your comments and constructive feedback. This design is work in progress and while I’m happy about it, it still needs some tweaks and changes. So tell me what do you think about new design.
