Storage space is free, pal, because we have a surplus of empty space. Oil isn’t free, and we’re running out fast. Your big glorious navy would come crashing to a halt without oil (even the nuclear powered vessels since oil is used in everything from weapons maintenance to hydraulics). So what do we do? We take it.
If you think the US is incapable of that, you are a bigger fool than I already believe you to be.
We’re exchanging lives for a commodity in order to make a small percentage of people in this country very rich, and it’s really disheartening to hear you support them in their efforts. They are screwing the American majority and the rest of the world, and you applaud them. How revolting.
Michael, if a nuke goes off in America in a couple of years I will blame Bush for causing it. If my parents and friends die, I won’t look to the Middle East for the cause. Bush provoked the situation and people are reacting in the only way they can.
You say we’re reacting to a few thousand American deaths. What about the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and Afghani deaths that we cause and are still causing? The people in the Trade Center were a drop in the bucket. We bomb friends, children, mothers, fathers, and then say ‘they had it coming’. No, they didn’t. We shouldn’t even be in Iraq. They had absolutely nothing at all to do with 9/11. It makes me sick.

This is totally about the oil and nothing at all to do with terrorism, that is just a smokescreen to justify the bombing and shooting of innocents to hide the fact that the oil is being stolen and shipped to the USA to be stockpiled for the future to give the USA control when world supplies are diminished. Yes -WE don’t steal oil in Iraq at all. We have never ever been accused ( in reality, not in Moveon.org lala land) of stealing any oil in Iraq and in fact even for our tanks and vehicles we fuel up on base now, and all of it comes directly after processing from Saudi Arabia. Not that they are much friends to us by the way.

Do we need such a stockpile at all is the question. Our navy is unmatched on the planet and we need not have such stockpiles even for strategic purposes.

As for personal attacks, I would hope you were above that as I will not join you in them.
Storage is extremely costly and the US government pays out billions just to store oil.
No one is for war, but if you had an enemy promising to kill you every chance they get, would it not be logical to kill them before they acquire a weapon that could do the same to you?
I am not pro-war, and am a Libertarian, which as a philosophy detests fascism and communism and socialism. Any ism that tells me I have to do this or live they way the top tells me stinks.
The idiots and terrorists will always exist. As we progress their weapons will become more terrible and it makes no sense at all for America or any civilized nation to let a nation like Iran for instance develop nukes when day after day their own President is calling for the destruction of the United States.

I think that you mister Michael L need to think very carefully about what you say before you say it. I live in Australia and our view on this whole iraq war thing is 1. Saddam Hussein needed to be removed and so did his private army. 2. The war is all about the oil not wepons of mass distruction as George Bush said it was. 3. If you think that the great U.S. of A is not capable of killing there own then it is true the you guys are just like mushrooms. Every war the since the war of independence the USA has lost. 4. Its also about control, control of you and your fellow Americans and the rest of the world. Most western Governments are slowly losing control over their respective countries and don’t like it. one way to gain control is by having a large man made disaster happen I.E 9/11, this makes the people look to the government for direction and confort in knowing that something will be done to rectifie the wrong done to our loved ones.
If you control a commodity like oil you control part of if not the whole world, as we need oil for a very large number of things in our everyday life, it’s not hard to see that the US Governement wouldn’t take and stock pile oil for a later date.
Also RY it wasn’t just 3000 americans killed it was 3000 peolpe from around this world that perished that day. It wasn’t Just the USA attacked it was the Western world.
