I guess many of you think that Google AdSense ads are most optimized ads on the internet. I thought so too, but I couldn’t be more wrong.
As a professional web designer (yep, I do get paid for my designs), I try to make websites W3C compliant. I know sometimes this is just impossible to do, due to special needs your clients want on their sites. But you would think Google would make simple text ads the way they should be done.
Novak’s blog isn’t W3C compliant
I made my own custom design for this blog and I have to say I put a lot of time into it. I spent an additional hours to make it W3C compliant, because I believe this is just one more proof of the quality of my designs.
And then one sunday afternoon, I decided to put AdSense ads on it. I wanted to cover my hosting expenses and maybe earn some lunch money. I followed Google’s instructions and successfully installed the ads. The only problem was, my blog was not W3C compliant anymore, because AdSense ads have errors in their code.
I guess I’m complaining over little unimportant things, but hey, that’s where it all starts. I wish Google would take care of this mistake and make all the designer around the world a bit happier.
What do you think about AdSense ads not passing the W3C validation? Does it bother you too or is it just me?

Just out of interest, can you give us an example of a client who doesn’t want a standards compliant site, and what it is they want that forces you to do otherwise?
